Logan's 1st Stitches!

Image
We moved Mimi and Poppy to their new house the week after Easter.  It was the girls Spring Break and I took off work to help them move and spend time with the girls.  Amanda, Claire and Camille came into town for the week also.  We worked really hard for 7 days and got them moved and had yard sale at the end of the week.  It was a hard, long and fun week! But... on the day that we took the Uhaul truck to the new house, Logan fell and hit the hitch on the back of the UHaul truck and busted his lip.  I knew once I got a good look at it that it was going to need stitches.   So... we had only been at the new house for 5 minutes when we were off to the Emergency Room to get him stitches.   Mimi rode with us and Aunt Amanda stayed back to help Poppy unload the Uhaul truck.    We were at the hospital for 6 hours!!  We did have the waiting room to ourselves that had no A/C it seemed.  It was an experience I do not want to go...

Logan's 2nd Easter and Kaitlyn's first Volleyball Tournament

Easter came fast! Our neighborhood Easter Egg hunt got cancelled due to the rain.   So Logan's first Easter Egg hunt was at French Broad Baptist Church which is probably where the girls first went to theirs.   He didn't really know what to do and was way more interested in the kids that were running around by him.   He did get the hand of opening the eggs though and finding chocolate inside of them.   The Easter bunny always drops their baskets off at the front door. Logan got some sports balls from the Easter bunny that Remi soon popped with her teeth.  Logan with evidence of chocolate on his face the morning of Easter The girls took Logan up in the big fire truck at the Easter Egg Hunt Logan loved the bubble machine The girls tried to show Logan how to pick up the eggs and put them in his basket but as soon as saw something was inside of one he wanted to sit down and eat it :) Logan zonked out in his car seat Logan at Kaitlyn's volley...

Mimi and Poppy got Covid!! Logan had Surgery and I turned 40!!

So... the day that Mimi and Poppy were scheduled to get their COVID vaccines, they tested positive for COVID.  Uncle Brock had tested positive and since Mimi and Poppy had been around them and started feeling a little sick, they decided to get tested and sure enough it came back positive.   They didn't really feel bad.  They had some chills, a little bit of congestion  and then the tiredness set in a few days later.  Mimi bounced back but Poppy Ken never got better.  His congestion continued and his cough continued. He mentioned that it hurt to breathe and so we decided he needed to go get his Oxygen checked. When he did, they said it was too low and that he needed to go to the hospital.  So mama drove him to the hospital and he ended up staying three nights in the hospital.  They gave him antibiotics and a steroid and meds to prevent blod clots.  It has been a month since then and he seems to have fully recovered.  There are still ...

Logan is Walking! Trip to Great Wolf Lodge! Valentine's Day! and First Hair Cut!

January and February were busy months!  Logan started walking at 12 1/2 months.  This was right around the same time as Addison and Kaitlyn.  The girls were so anxious for him to start walking even though they didn't quite understand what that means for them.  That means he can walk into their rooms at any time and can start opening doors.  He was at home in the kitchen when he first took his 8-10 steps.   We were supposed to go to Texas at the end of January for a trip to the Dude Ranch in Texas with my work and all of the families.  We were all so excited to go to the Dude Ranch because it is just so much fun.  But... due to Covid my work changed it to not be a work trip and many of the families decided not to go and therefore we decided to make the long trip if we weren't going to be able to see everyone and hang out with the other families.  We told the girls we would take them somewhere fun since we didn't get to Texas and so we dec...
