Before We Were a Family of Five

Below are pictures of me while I was carrying Logan and some from my baby showers. I decided to wait and tell the girls I was pregnant till later in my pregnancy.  I was right around 15 weeks pregnant when we told them and they were overjoyed and excited.  I did a scavenger hunt with clues around the house to tell them the news.  We then went to breakfast that morning with Nana to tell her. I was blessed to have three baby showers. The first one was given by Mimi, Aunt Amanda and Aunt Miranda and it was mainly family.  It was at the nursing home Nannie lives at. The second shower was given by Nana at her house and it was mainly extended family and long time friends.  Lastly, was my girlfriends shower given by Kim Pearson, Kelly Bailey, Meredith Merrill and Kelly Stepp.  The decorations were buffalo plaid and it was a special shower as well.  We were blessed with so many needed items.  Josh and I took a trip to Gatlinburg, TN for a week...

24 Weeks Pregnant with Logan

October 3rd, 2019 Well, it has been years since I have posted anything to this Blog.  I stopped when the girls were three years old.  I am now 38 years old and I am pregnant with baby Logan.  I wanted to start the blog back up to document stories about Logan while he is in the Womb.  I am almost 6 months pregnant and he moves much more than I remember the girls moving at this point.  It might be that his movements are just more powerful or that he is actually moving more.  Josh, Addison, Kaitlyn and Mimi have all been able to feel him move.  I go today to the doctor for a checkup and to hear his heart beat.  We are all so excited for his arrival but we do not want him to come early.

Valentine’s Day

For Valentine’s Josh and I celebrated on Saturday night.  We got a babysitter and went to 131 Main in Biltmore Park and then to the movies to see “The Vow” We had a fun date night.  On actual Valentine’s Day Addison started throwing up the night before and then through the night into the next day.  So it didn’t start out too well and then Linda (Nana) was sick also.  So I stayed home and kept the girls half the day and then took them to Linda's around noon.  Linda and the girls made cupcakes and had a lot of fun doing that.  Then after Jeff, Josh and I got off work  we went to Linda's.  I picked up hot subs and pizza and we celebrated inside versus going out to a nice dinner since everyone was under the weather.  We had a good time hanging out as a family.  The girls gave Nana and their Daddy their cards.  We enjoyed the beautifully decorated cupcakes for dessert.

Cute Sayings of the Girls

Its been a few months ago now but Kaitlyn told Linda, “Oh goodness that funny”  when Linda dropped the phone.  One day while riding in the car and Josh was gone hunting in South Carolina Addison said, “Mama I wanted to go hunting with Daddy.  I wanted to help daddy save the deer.  You did hunny?  Yea like on the television when those bad guys were trying to kill those animals but the good guys saved them.  I want to help daddy save the deer.”  Thinking from this statement Addison is not quite ready to go hunting with Josh.  One morning on the way to drop the girls off at Pre-School we were listening the song “I Saw Mommy Kissing Santa Clause”.  I asked Addison what she would do if she saw mommy kissing Santa Clause… She said, “If I saw you kissing Santa Clause everybody would laugh” Again in the car on the way to school, Kaitlyn said, “We go to Nana’s today?” I said, “No sweetie you are going to school today and you get to see ...

Christmas 2011

Image
Christmas with a two and a three year old was very fun and exciting this year.   I took the girls to see Santa at the Asheville Mall and they both sat on his lap and both smiled!!!  Addison had said that she wanted to hand Santa a list and not sit on his lap and Kaitlyn said she wanted to sit on Santa’s lap.  But when we got up to him Addison got right on his lap and Kaitlyn held tightly to my neck but then she reluctantly let me put her on his lap.  Addison told Santa she wanted a bike with training wheels and Kaitlyn told Santa she wanted toys.  Kaitlyn had been telling everyone she wanted candy so this was a little different for us to hear.  Decorating the Christmas tree was a fun experience.  Josh usually puts up our artificial tree and I put the lights on and then we decorate it together.  The girls were very excited about decorating the tree.  They wanted to put the ornaments on by themselves with no help so we ended up with many...
